Staff are friendly and helpful. Be nice to see hotel when refurbishing is finished . The menu for evening needs a wider choice.

Not very clean.

Disappointing for a Four-Star Hotel We chose Cardiff Marriott expecting the standard of a four-star hotel, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Before our stay, we specifically requested a quiet room on a higher floor to avoid late-night noise from nearby bars and clubs. The hotel replied in writing confirming that a higher-floor room had been allocated to us. However, at check-in, we were told no higher-floor rooms were available as the hotel was full. Despite showing/explaining the previous confirmation, the front desk could only apologise and say nothing was available. This was particularly disappointing because we understood that a specific view could not be guaranteed, but the higher-floor room had actually been confirmed as allocated. The room itself was also below our expectations. The carpet appeared dirty and noticeably stained/discoloured. We were also surprised by the limited in-room amenities, with no slippers, toothpaste/toothbrush, razor or comb provided. The location is convenient, but overall the cleanliness, amenities and communication did not meet the four-star standard we expected. We hope Marriott can improve communication between reservations and reception and pay greater attention to room cleanliness and the overall guest experience.
